Go Bananas for QuickStart! Spring Banana Blitzin

Nothing better than Banana Blitzin' in May!

QCV wants to get the Go Bananas! message out to as many kids, parents and teachers as possible, so we visit PE classes, after-school programs, out-of-school programs and participate in family fitness nights at schools, back-to-school events and school festivals. We also participate in other community events like the Junior League's Kids in the Kitchen and Charlottesville Family's Family Fun Fair and Camp Expo. We enjoy every opportunity to get in front of kids and tell them what great tennis players eat and how they exercise.

We're up to 25 Go Bananas! cards.

Here's what Banana Blitzin' looks like!

In May we Went Bananas! in PE classes at Baker-Butler, Stone-Robinson and Stony Point Elementary Schools.

A double class with 45 kids for an hour -- half Go Bananas! and half FUN in the parking lot.

84 Bright Stars (five year-olds), second and third graders

A little "on-court" action before the Go Bananas! presentation

Second and third graders Going Bananas! Look at all those Go Bananas! cards.

Look at all those Bright Stars! Future Tennis STARS! They loved the Sponge Bob sweat bands they received!

Day Two of Go Bananas! at Stone-Robinson Elementary School, May 2013
90 second and third graders

Second graders getting ready for Racquet Relay . . . and they're off! PE teacher Tommy Landseadel really got them moving! That's what we like to see!!!

Moved to the Library for the Go Bananas! presentation to the third graders. Gym was a beehive of activity -- being prepared for Goldie & the Bears.

What a nice, unexpected bonus of getting to see the Goldie & the Bears musical production by the kindergarten and first grade classes. Wonder if that porridge was whole-grain?

PE Teacher Patsy Reardon is a drama coach too! And she received a coveted Golden Apple Award yesterday! She was the only PE teacher to receive a Golden Apple Award this year.
Congratulations and thanks for all your support of QuickStart Tennis!
