2011 Junior League of Charlottesville Kids in the Kitchen

The Junior League of Charlottesville held its annual Kids in the Kitchen event in the Albemarle High School cafeteria on March 19, 2011. Over 150 kids plus parents, grandparents and guardians participated this year. QCV had a Go Bananas for QuickStart! station with Go Bananas! posters and bracelets and a "Why do tennis players eat bananas" cards for the kids and a 36-foot court.

QCV partnered with Chris Cubbage, USPTA Tennis Professional and Founder of Matilda Blue Family Friendly Tennis, to provide an on-court experience for kids. We were assisted on court by tennis player Carter Johnson, a Junior League member and weekend anchor for the Charlottesville Newsplex. Everyone had a GREAT TIME!

In addition to QuickStart Tennis, other stations featured face painting, healthy arts & craft activities, pilates instruction, an "obstacle" course, healthy snacks, salad smarts, "eat the rainbow," backpack safety and health, "pick this, not that," dance instruction and dental health. This healthy living fair for kids and parents is a terrific asset in our community!
